John currently resides on the West Coast. His tales of working as a Technician at the Voice of America Bethany Relay Station are the stuff of radio legend. He has been playing radio since about 1964. He has been an Amateur Radio operator since 1969 and currently holds an Extra Class License. He is active on PSK-31, some CW and SSB, 40-10 meters. He is the trustee for the N6VOA club station. John served on the Association of North American Radio Clubs (ANARC) Board for 2 terms. He also holds a General Radio Telephone License (converted from 1st Class Radiotelephone in 1985.) He has been employed in Commercial Broadcasting since 1967. John has been employed with the Voice of America (VOA) at the Bethany, Ohio and the Delano, California transmitter sites, making really BIG RF (1 megawatt). Radios: TS-480 SAT Back |
