Kulpsville Reflections (The 4th Through the 16th)

DON'S REFLECTIONS ON THE SWL FEST

My initial attendance was in 1990 for the 4th Annual Fest. I continued to attend each year through the 16th Fest in 2003. I was unable to attend the next three.

A highlight one year was when Dr. DX took several of us to the site of the First Festival, the Fiesta Motor Lodge. He showed us various locations within the hotel complex and it was very interesting to hear his comments as he explained what had taken place during that Fest.

My association with the Scanner Scum has always been so much fun. Our banquet table was usually a source of lots of noise and merriment. Several phrases were adapted and would be shouted out by the group at what we thought were appropriate times during the banquet and particularly during the drawing for door prizes. Our table always seemed to do quite well with holding winning tickets.

The various entertainments during the years were all most enjoyable but I have to admit that my favorite was the amply endowed Belly Dancer. Bob Brown arranged for her to perform on banquet night when we saw her a few nights previously at a Middle East restaurant. Way to go Bob!!
